About Me

I'm orginally from Yorkshire and live in Exeter with my husband, two children and a dog called Roo.  I am a member of Exeter Illustrators - a group of professional artists who live and work in the Exeter area.

I have always loved storytelling and my childhood was spent drawing and playing outside. My work is really influenced by the beauty of the natural world.

I was an art teacher before leaving to become a full time illustrator, completing my MA in Children's Book Illustration, at the Cambridge School of Art, in 2013.

My first children's book 'Alfie's Night Out' was commissioned, this year, by the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, for their 150th anniversary.  The book was produced in conjuntiuon with my first solo exhibition and is on display until 2 September 2018.

I illustrate a column in Exeter Living Magazine and last year I was pleased to win an award from 'Voices of Future Generations Children's Book Series' for my illustration  "The Visible Girls".
